SNORING/APNEA SOLUTIONS

IN SEARCH OF BETTER SLEEP? LET US HELP YOU FIND IT WITH SNORING/APNEA SOLUTIONS.

OUR NATION IS LOSING SLEEP. ARE YOU?

Over 20 million Americans suffer from Sleep Apnea. Sleep Apnea is the condition in which breathing pauses repeatedly during the night, causing debilitating effects due to lack of adequate oxygen. Unfortunately, 90 percent of the time this life-threatening condition goes undiagnosed and untreated. The “deprivation of sleep” caused by Sleep Apnea contributes to serious health issues such as depression, heart attack, high blood pressure (hypertension), to name a few.

With every new patient, Dr. Froeber performs a comprehensive exam, including an assessment of sleep quality. If a sleep disorder is suspected, she will recommend tests in order to investigate, diagnose, and determine appropriate treatment options.

IS YOUR PARTNER LOSING SLEEP? IS YOUR SNORING THE CAUSE?

Snoring is the sound of air passing through an obstructed airway during sleep. When the soft tissues at the back of the throat vibrate, it causes the sound of snoring. Snoring can be a symptom of Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Dr. Froeber makes oral appliances, similar to a nightguard, to keep your airway open and allow you (and your partner!) a restful and silent night’s sleep.

MOVE OVER CPAP, THERE'S A NEW TREATMENT IN TOWN

For years, sleeping masks (CPAP machines) have been the gold standard choice for keeping patient’s airways open while they slept. However, too many Sleep Apnea sufferers are either intolerant to the CPAP or find it difficult to use. Studies report a high non-adherence to CPAP therapy – some as high as 83%.

Now, there are other options. Dr. Froeber and her team specialize in providing alternatives for treating Sleep Apnea (and other sleeping disorders) with Oral Appliance Therapy. These dental devices gently move the lower jaw forward, preventing the tongue from blocking the main air passage.

Devices are easy to wear and highly effective. They are a great alternative to patients who are non-compliant or cannot tolerate the CPAP (Continues Positive Airway Pressure) treatment.

Froeber Dentistry offers Home Sleep Studies that can be used in the privacy and comfort of your own home. These studies are extremely helpful in assisting with diagnosing snoring and or Sleep Apnea conditions for patients.

Oral Appliance Therapy consists of wearing a nightguard-like device that is comfortable and easy to wear. Depending on the study, compliance rates are between 77% and 95% with a very high effectiveness for mild to moderate Sleep Apnea and moderate effectiveness for severe Sleep Apnea.

““I found Dr. Froeber and talked through the concept of how the mouth device could replace the CPAP. I took a leap of faith and quickly became accustomed to the device and have used it for almost a year. During this time my Apnea score came down to a four and my blood pressure is 20 points lower. My wife says I have a steady deep breathing pattern at night. I feel this is a very sustainable option to treating my Sleep Apnea.”

“The treatment I received for my sleep apnea was a very positive experience. The dental appliance Dr. Froeber made for me has improved the quality of my life. I have not missed a night since I received the appliance in May 2011. I am very satisfied with the results and am able to think more clearly, have sharper thoughts, better sleep and am breathing better. I would highly recommend this treatment.”

“Since having treatment for sleep apnea, I have lost 20 pounds because I am sleeping through the night. I look forward to going to bed and used to dread it because I always had trouble falling asleep. Before I had my dental appliance I was conscious of going in and out of sleep and would startle myself awake and would wake others with my snoring. Even the dog is sleeping better because he no longer has to worry about me!”
